Non-Disclosure Agreement
Last updated October 12, 2026
Clients and surveyors share sensitive site and project information through BLD. This Non-Disclosure Agreement (“Agreement”) applies to every BLD user and is accepted during onboarding. It protects other users and BLD. Each person or company that shares information is its owner and can enforce this Agreement.
1.Confidential Information
“Confidential Information” means any non-public information you receive through BLD, or from another user because of a project found through BLD, including:
- project briefs, site addresses, map locations and building details;
- drawings, plans, photos, point clouds, scans, models and other files;
- site access arrangements, security procedures, occupants and on-site conditions;
- pricing, budgets, rates and commercial terms;
- personal data of other users, site contacts and occupants; and
- non-public information about BLD’s platform, matching, pricing tools and business.
2.Your obligations
You agree to:
- use Confidential Information only to evaluate, quote, perform or receive the survey work it was shared for;
- not disclose it to anyone except your employees, subcontractors and professional advisors who need it for that project and are bound by confidentiality duties at least as strict as this Agreement;
- protect it with at least reasonable care, and no less care than you use for your own confidential information;
- not publish, post or show site imagery, scans or Deliverables (for example in a portfolio or on social media) without the Client’s written permission; and
- tell BLD at support@bld.online promptly if you learn of any unauthorized use or disclosure.
You are responsible for any breach of this Agreement by people you share information with.
3.Exceptions
Confidential Information does not include information that (a) is or becomes public through no fault of yours, (b) you already lawfully knew without a duty of confidentiality, as shown by your records, (c) you lawfully receive from a third party without a duty of confidentiality, or (d) you develop independently without using the Confidential Information.
4.Disclosure required by law
If a law, court order or government authority requires you to disclose Confidential Information, you may do so only to the extent required. Where legally allowed, you must first notify the owner of the information (or BLD, which will notify the owner) so they can seek protection.
5.Return and deletion
When a project ends, or when the owner or BLD asks, you must, within 15 days, return or securely delete Confidential Information for that project, except copies you must keep by law or professional record-keeping rules, or copies held in routine backups. Any copies you keep remain subject to this Agreement.
6.Duration
This Agreement applies while you use BLD and for three (3) years after your account ends. Obligations for personal data and trade secrets continue for as long as the information remains personal data or a trade secret.
7.No license
Confidential Information remains the property of whoever shared it. Nothing in this Agreement grants you any license or ownership in it, except the right to use it for the project as described above.
8.Remedies
A breach of this Agreement may cause harm that money alone cannot fix. The owner of the information and BLD may seek an injunction or other court relief, in addition to any other remedies. BLD may also suspend or close the account of anyone who breaches this Agreement.
9.Relationship to the Terms and changes
This Agreement forms part of the BLD Terms of Service that apply to you. The governing law and other general terms in the Terms of Service also apply to this Agreement. “Client”, “Surveyor” and “Deliverables” have the meaning given in the Terms of Service. If this Agreement conflicts with the Terms of Service on confidentiality, this Agreement prevails. If you sign a separate NDA with another user or with BLD for a specific project, the stricter obligation applies. We may update this Agreement; when we make material changes, we will update the date above and notify you by email or in the app.
